The National Trust for Scotland Mar Lodge Estate is delivering an ambitious project aiming to restore the upper reaches of the Geldie Burn, a major tributary of the River Dee, by establishing new native woodland in a series of deer fenced compartments. The site is within the River Dee Special Area of Conservation, Mar Lodge Estate National Nature Reserve, Cairngorms Massif Special Protection Area, Cairngorms Mountains National Scenic Area and Cairngorms National Park and has a number of site sensitivities.
