Peel Park Restoration Project

Peel Park is a small public park located in the town of Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire. It first opened to the public in 1898 and sits across the line of the original Roman Antonine wall. It contains a number of significant objects including a Bandstand, Drinking Fountain and Lamp Posts made by the Lion Foundry of the town. The Foundry was famous during the Victorian era for its decorative ironwork and these were donated to the people of Kirkintilloch in 1905. It is these items which are the focus of this proje...
