There is need to identify whether there is scope to maximise the economic growth of the UK’s marine sectors, and to ensure that the benefits of growth are distributed fairly across society and can be enjoyed by future generations. It is against this background that evidence is required on the maket failures and economic growth constraints facing the UK’s marine sectors. This evidence will guide policy in how best to support the sustainable growth of the different industry sectors in a strategic and streamlined way.
