Tree Thinning Dolymynach dam woods, September 2023

Thinning works in a 2.5 hectare wood known as Dolymynach dam woods, located in the Elan valley just over 5 miles to the southwest of Rhayader (Grid ref SN906617). This is a small broadleaf woodland on the edge of Dolymynach reservoir which requires thinning of dense birch regen throughout the wood. Most of the trees to be felled are less than 11cm dbh.
