09TS Victoria Line Supply of Gearbox Assembly

This is a goods only requirement estimated to be circa £435k for the supply of Gearbox Assemblies to support the 09TS Victoria Line Fleet Heavy Overhaul Program Lift (HOPL) project. They use a system of gears to adjust the power and speed between the trains electric motors and its wheels. They allow the train to change gears to multiply torque for a strong start from a standstill or to maintain a high speed efficiently on a straight track.
