Nottinghamshire County Council has a statutory duty under Section 46 of the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984 to undertake the cremation or burial of people who die whilst living in residential care or a nursing home or a supported living complex within Nottinghamshire when there is no-one willing or able to make funeral arrangements for them.
