4LM JLNL Cyber Security Operational Technology works 2025

LUL intend to install Cyber Security monitoring equipment on all OT 'Operational Technology' systems across the railway, including signalling systems. This involves connecting into computer networks such as the Hitachi Rail SMC to monitor for any suspicious or unauthorised access or activity on these systems. To do this would require connecting non-Hitachi Rail equipment into the Hitachi Rail computer networks thus would need Hitachi Rail to assess and 'approve' of such changes to the system design.
