Lead by the DfE, the scope of the pilot is to replace existing heating systems, where possible, and improve school building fabric where necessary to improve thermal efficiency. Kingsmead School were deemed unfeasible for an Air Source or Ground Source heat pump and so have been deemed feasible for a boiler replacement instead.
