The main objectives of this work are: a) to assess the effectiveness of existing regulations on drivers' hours and working time in mitigating the road safety risk of fatigue related incidents for commercial freight vehicle drivers, and b) to explore the impacts of relaxations to aspects of the drivers' hours rules on both drivers and haulage operators.
