The Environment Agency has a requirement for high quality land height data for a wide range of uses, including flood mapping and modelling. This is obtained through the use of LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology. LIDAR data are delivered through a planned annual National Programme which allows prioritisation of data requirements and efficient data capture through pre-programmed flights.
