Establishing Best Available Techniques (BAT) for hydrogen production from methane with associated carbon capture and storage (CCS)

UK Environmental Regulators currently permit hydrogen production activities and it is our role to ensure that permits include appropriate measures to protect the environment. We do this by considering Best Available Techniques (BAT) at the permit determination stage, attaching conditions to the permits we issue, and by monitoring compliance with those conditions.
