Quarry Moor is a nine-hectare nature reserve, with two areas designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its calcareous grassland and geological cliff face. The site is a mix of woodland and open spaces. The tree species composition is relatively limited, with a significant proportion of ash (Fraxinus excelsior).
