It is the authority's ambition to achieve a net-zero city council carbon footprint by no later than 2030 and a carbon neutral city by 2050. One element of this strategy is to replace lighting in large buildings with LED lights to improve the general lighting of the buildings and reduce consumption of electricity to power these lights.
