Wylfa is situated on the Isle of Anglesey and has a long history of nuclear power generation. The land which surrounds the existing Magnox nuclear power station at Wylfa was listed in the Government's National Policy Statement on nuclear development (NPS) in June 2011 as being deemed suitable for nuclear development ("the Proposed Development Site").
