For the Provision of Teacher Assessment Moderation - Early years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

LAs are required, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Education, to validate a sample of Early Years, KS1 and KS2 Teacher Assessment (TA) judgements in English reading, English writing and mathematics. Every year, LAs must externally moderate a sample of at least 25 per cent of LA maintained schools, plus 25 per cent of academies and participating independent schools that opt to be included in the LA's external moderation provision.
