GB-Edinburgh: Award of Contract for Maintenance and Redecoration of Auskerry Lighthouse

Auskerry Lighthouse is situated on the small Island of the same name to north west of mainland Orkney. Built in 1866 by David and Thomas Stevenson, the light has a single white flashing character every 20 seconds giving a nautical range of 18 miles. The lighthouse tower, which is 34 meters high, is adjoined to a privately owned dwelling. A masonry wall surrounds the perimeter of the lighthouse station.
