As a Waste Disposal Authority, Devon County Council is responsible for providing facilities (Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs)), at which members of the public can discard their bulky household waste. The authority manages a network of 19 HWRCs which manage approximately 80,000 tonnes per annum of household waste.
