Strategic traffic signal controlled junctions within the Grimsby-Cleethorpes conurbation are co-ordinated by the Urban Traffic Control (UTC) system. The UTC communicates between the remote sites and a central computer by private telephone lines. These are analogue lines provided by British Telecom (BT). BT has indicated that it will no longer support analogue lines beyond 2015.
