ZEPTO Dipole Permanent Magnet Block

The Accelerator Science and Technology Centre (ASTeC) at Daresbury Laboratory has designed prototype dipoles for the drive beam turnaround loop (DB-TAL) of the proposed Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) project at CERN. The DB-TAL requires 576 dipoles to steer the beam along its length. Each of these dipoles will have a nominal strength of 1.6 T, and will be able to reduce the field down to 0.8 T.
