NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year (366 days in each leap year) to respond to people’s healthcare needs when: - •It is not a life-threatening situation, and therefore is less urgent than a 999 call; •The patients registered GP is not an option, for example when the Caller is away from home, the service can assess and direct to the nearest practice; •The Caller feels they cannot wait and is simply unsure of which service they require; •The Caller requires health informat...
