South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) owns the Supertram infrastructure. South Yorkshire Supertram Ltd (SYSL) commenced operation in 1994 and SYPTE let a Concession to Stagecoach through SYSL to operate and maintain the Supertram system on its behalf in 1997.
