The Council is procuring a contract to undertake section of the pedestrian Guard Rail replacement over the pumping station wall at West Tower Street Bridge. West Tower Street Bridge carries the A595 County Road (Castle Way) across West Tower Street in Carlisle. A general breakdown of the protective paint system on the existing pedestrian Guard Rail has led to various instances of severe corrosion of the steelwork.
