'The Council seeks expressions of interest from suitably experienced internal audit providers for the provision of internal audit services. Internal audit is an assurance function providing an independent and objective opinion to the Council on the degree to which the internal control environment supports and promotes the achievement of its objectives through the effective management and mitigation of its key business risk exposures.'
