Bulk Salt Supplies for Highway De-Icing

The Council is seeking to appoint a single supplier for its bulk supply of salt for highway de-icing. There are just under 50 treated routes in Norfolk's priority (P1/P2) network. Each time a countywide gritting action is called, around 2,200 miles of network is treated within three hours. This covers about one third of the whole network in Norfolk.
