This procurement process is being undertaken to secure an additional 16 adult acute psychiatric inpatient beds within the catchment area of the patients of 30km driving distance from the mid-range point between Exeter and Torquay. There is a national target as part of the Five Year Forward View (FYFV) to eliminate inappropriate Out of Area placements by 2020/21.
