The contract was awarded on a three quote price only evaluation. Wildfire and fires in the open are a prevalent risk within RBFRS. The primary risk is during the late spring, summer and early autumn. These incidents tend to occur away from roads and are difficult for standard appliances to access. The service has had an offroad capability based around a lightweight vehicle with a small pump and water tank.
