Tagging of lesser black-backed gulls to provide evidence of their behaviour and habitat use from the Ribble & Alt Estuaries Special Protection Area (SPA)

gulls (LBBGs) from the Ribble Estuary breeding colony were fitted with Movetech GPS-GSM tags to obtain a detailed understanding of their movement patterns and in particular their flight height. Although the work was successful, the BTO recommended that the University of Amsterdam Tracking System (UvA) offers a better option for studying flight heights of adult gulls.
